“Surveillance of the natural” is a mixed media installation of a childhood memory. It is one of my earliest memories that I will subject the audience to, in order to force people to experience something that they don’t quite understand. I draw from my experience with visiting my father in incarceration, and as well as using my own labor, in order to re-create every aspect of this memory. This includes painting and building, stoneware and as well as use of materials that requires more intimate relationships towards the human body as it is posed for photographs.
